B-TOXIN Stopped Working: Resistance or Something Else?
Treatment Guide · VS LINE CLINIC GANGNAM

A weaker result does not, by itself, prove B-TOXIN resistance. Dose, placement, product, timing and the original treatment target can all affect what you notice. A repeated loss of response after earlier successful treatment deserves a structured assessment.
Does a shorter effect mean I have resistance?
First compare like with like: the same area, a similar treatment plan and an appropriate review time. A change in muscle movement is different from a gradual change in muscle size. Photographs and treatment records help establish whether the response truly changed, rather than relying only on memory.
What causes immune resistance?
Neutralizing antibodies can interfere with the toxin’s biological action. However, antibody findings and clinical loss of response do not always match. Studies differ in product, medical indication, dose and follow-up. Their figures should not be presented as a universal probability for every cosmetic patient.[1]
Can frequent top-ups be a problem?
Avoid repeatedly adding treatment before the previous result can be assessed. Tell the doctor about toxin injections in all areas, including larger muscles, even when another clinic provided them. Retreatment decisions should consider the product information, clinical purpose and your earlier response rather than a fixed promotional schedule.
Will changing brands restore the result?
Imported versus Korean-made is not a reliable test of resistance risk. No brand can promise zero risk. When clinically relevant antibodies target the active toxin, another product of the same toxin type may also have a reduced effect. A product change should follow an assessment, not replace one.[2]
What should I bring to a consultation?
Bring dates, product names, areas, doses if available, and notes about when the effect began and faded. Include treatment at other clinics. A doctor can review possible nonimmune causes and decide whether further assessment or an alternative is appropriate. Do not respond to suspected resistance by arranging progressively larger doses yourself.
Before your consultation
For B-TOXIN resistance questions in Korea, treatment history is more informative than a brand ranking.
What do FDA records and clinical studies say?
B-TOXIN. The U.S. B-TOXIN Cosmetic label includes temporary improvement of moderate-to-severe glabellar, crow’s-feet and forehead lines and platysma bands in adults. Masseter slimming and intradermal pore treatment are not listed in the reviewed label. Approval is product-specific, and units cannot simply be transferred between toxin brands.[B4][B3]

Planning repeat visits or a trip to Korea
If you live locally, discuss when you can return. If visiting Korea, share your arrival, departure and important event dates. English, Chinese and Japanese interpretation is available; request your preferred language when booking and confirm whether the consultation uses an interpreter or a clinician speaking that language. Confirm the treating clinician and appointment availability.
What should you arrange before leaving?
Ask for aftercare instructions, the timing of any review, whom to contact about a concern and which symptoms need medical attention. Before returning abroad, confirm how to contact the clinic and request treatment records, including the available language and issue process. Seek medical assessment for suspected complications rather than waiting only for an online reply.
